While evaluating the possible merits & possible hazards of the experimental usage of any and all bio-resonance and resonant frequency inducing devices or systems, it might be prudent to keep in mind the disturbing subject of ELECTRO-SENSITIVITY.
Many people have reported problems with electrosensitivity that range from the mild to the extremely severe & even life challenging.
Robert O. Becker, in his 1991 book "Cross Currents", tried to lay out his perspective on this disturbing aspect of the effects of "Electro-Pollution" as we all experience it today.
James L. Oschman, in his 2000 book, "Energy Medicine- The Scientific Basis" goes further in describing how we are now saturated with dangerously high levels of a wide spectrum of EMF/RF that was not present in Tesla, Rife, or Lahkovsky's times... exposures that are pervasive, and increasing yearly - that can be viewed as a 'stressor' effect.
Oschman also refers to Tesla as the first person on record to have problems with electro-sensitivity due to his exposures to his own experimental devices- an aspect of his experimentation that is not spoken of much.
Devices which produce wide spectrum 'chaos signals' have been reported to produce severe SENSITIZING in some individuals who's health was already in a 'stressed' state. Health challenges can be further aggravated due to environmental EMF / RF exposures: 60 Hz AC, radio / TV / Cell phone / government / industrial / military communication / (?) or higher frequency RF signals - many of these permeate our living environments.
Lahkovsky theorized that, when bathed in a high intensity wide spectrum 'chaos signal', that the body only uses what it 'needs' and simply shrugs off the rest - like water off a duck's back... and this may be the case for many healthy individuals. But times have changed; we live in an ever more electro-polluted world today, and many health-challenged individuals have been 'stressed' beyond their natural ability to 'shrug off' added exposures. These people can in fact find their condition deteriorating further very rapidly.
The most disturbing thing about a severely deteriorating Electro-Sensitivity condition is that, according to the reports of people who have experienced these problems, the affects don't just disappear quickly again... in many reports, the adverse health affects to even relatively brief exposures have resulted in months or years of radically increased hyper-sensitivity.
A web search on http://www.google.com will provide a wealth of further material that may help to understand how pervasive these conditions are becoming.

Any device which produces or uses an RF signal or a 'chaos signal' could conceivably produce an adverse 'elecrto-sensitivity' or 'electro-sensitizing' reaction in someone who's health state is already 'stressed'. They may not be able to simply 'shrug off' the effects of further exposure.
Which types of GIZMOS are specifically designed to produce "chaos signals"? On the low-tech end, you may want to look closely at anything that uses / has a spark gap effect - [a spark jumping between two surfaces]- within it's operation. These types of devices include a few I'm aware of:
(1) The experimental ASTROD design (an open air high voltage arcing setup)
(2) The Lahkovsky Multi-Wave Oscillator and variations (again, with a high voltage transformer producing sparks which jump gaps in an 'antenna' spark gap grid / array)
(3) The "Molecular Enhancer MWO" devices, such as those offered by Dan Dial, and being built from simple plans offered on the web
(4) The Dan Tracy versions of the EMEM-2 / 3, which actually use an automotive spark plug with a gap set at .015" in the high voltage drive to produce the 'chaos signal'.
(5) Any other device with an "RF Pack" (inline spark gap that produces a wide spectrum 'chaos signal')
None of these devices were designed or built to try to hurt or further sensitize their users; it's hard for people to simultaneously think of something they can build, that seems to be able to help some people, as possibly also being capable of severely deteriorating the health condition of some others.
Some people simply don't want to hear about it- don't think the subject of possible adverse reactions should even be mentioned... but is that what's really in the best interest of those facing health challenges?
How do you tell if any particular device / design is producing an RF or chaos signal?

Abrams machines. The theory is that each kind of illness is a unique disturbance of of the electrons of the body. Equipment was built to measure the disturbances and to correct them. Lakhovsky MWO. Lakhovsky invented the multi-wave oscillator, a device which applies a large variety of frequencies to the body with the goal of giving the body frequencies that it needs. Almost like charging a battery. These are still being built today.

The violet ray device. This is a Tesla coil that feeds some sort of plasma tube. I'd like more information about this one. The one chance I had to use one, it seemed that it was necessary to keep the tube moving over the skin to prevent UV burns. Editor's note: recieved this clarification on 10-30-98: ..."You may want to edit the GIZMO summary by Richard Llloyd, Phd. He thinks that the violet ray produces UV. Which it does not. It generates a Tesla Current (high oscillation rate). This current is thermal, or heat-producing and germicidal. Violet Ray is most frequently called the High-Frequency Machine. Generally the electrodes are glass and when energized, glow with a violet light. When they are filled with neon gas, the electrodes light up an orange-red color. The High-Frequency Machine is a basic tool in the skin care industry world-wide. It has been widely employed by estheticians in Europe and the US. As a licensed esthetician, I know that many clients are initially concerned that the violet hue is UV. The last thing any skin care professional would want is the client thinking UV was being applied to their skin. Thank You."
The Rife beam-ray device. Rife fed various radio frequencies into the electrodes of gas filled glass tubes to form an ionized plasma. This was very effective against the cancer "virus" and other pathogens.
The Rife-Crane or pad device. It appears that it was John Crane who got the idea of applying audio frequencies directly to people via electrodes or pads applied to the skin. Such pad devices are often called Rife machines, but Rife-Crane or just Crane seems to me to be more accurate. A lot has been said about the effectiveness of such devices, much of it negative. On the other hand, I have seen these units destroy diseases like herpes quickly, and take care of mononucleosis in one treatment so that a very sick child was fine the next morning and ready for school. Many have reported "spontaneous remissions" of cancers. Not bad by any standard. I am sure that many more stories could be told. The BK-4011 or 4040 can easily be converted to a Crane type of device by simply putting a splitter in lines of the output cable. The shield side goes to both feet, and the center conductor to both hands.
Dan's Enhancer. Wanting to observe auras, Dan (not the same Dan who built the first EMEM devices) took a 12000 volt neon sign transformer, two sheets of glass, one sheet of aluminum foil, a small sheet of copper, and a neon bulb and built the enhancer. The unit was found to have biological effects by accident. About 400 of these units have been built, and numerous "spontaneous remissions" of many conditions, including cancer, have been reported. The enhancer cost me about $200 to build, and the test run was a very interesting experience. Should have had an assistant there named "Igor". One problem with the Enhancer is that treatment times usually need to be long - an hour or more per day. It seems to be a MWO type device. [They're now being sold for $750.00 by Dan through distributors.)
The Rife-"Doug" unit. "Doug" had heard that Rife had killed pathogens using various audio frequencies. Not knowing the method that Rife used to deliver the frequencies, "Doug" fed his frequency generator into a 2000 watt audio amplifier, and ran the output of that into a large capacitor and coil combination. Using this setup, he discovered the Lyme disease frequency, and cured himself.
The light gun. This unit has been reported to be effective against various conditions. (See note on the HFA-4L below)
The Brain tuner. A Dr. Wen who was a surgeon in a Hong Kong hospital used electro-acupuncture for anesthesia. He noticed that heroin addicts were reporting that they were going without heroin and were not having withdrawal. Further research resulted in the "brain tuner". This unit is able to restore endorphins so as to eliminate withdrawal symptoms for addicts. It also is useful for depression, ADD, and many other conditions.
The Rife-Crane-"R" device. The Crane type units generally have an output control that controls the output voltage, and thus the current. "R" developed a device that puts out 200 volts at constant current. Low currents are used, so that there is less sensation than when other pad-type devices are used. A woman with breast cancer borrowed the unit and placed one electrode on each side of her effected breast. In only one week of treatments, the tumor shrunk to the point where the mastectomy was cancelled. This method was later successfully used on another breast cancer. I suspect that the use of 200 volts may be significant. It is hoped that "R" will publish the design of this device.
The Beck Blood Purifier / plant stimulator / blood cleaner. At one point, Dr. Bob Beck (who invented the camera strobe) weighed 285 pounds, was confined to a wheelchair, had very high blood pressure, had very high blood sugar, and had lost most of his hair. He had previously written articles on Rife-Crane type equipment. In 1991 he heard about Dr. Stephen Kaali and others at Albert Einstein College and their announced cure for AIDS. They had found that a mere 50-100 micro-amperes of electricity would rid the blood of AIDS. According to the patents, it will also rid the blood of any other pathogens present. Beck decided that it was not necessary to remove the blood from the body as per the patents. He would just apply 4hz (to prevent electrolysis) to a small electrode on each of two pulse points and clean the blood in the body. He chose the pulse points on the inside of the ankle just below and behind the ankle bone. (We currently use the radial and ulnar arteries on the same wrist.) For a month he went around for four hours a day (to test for negative effects) with one electrode on each ankle. He also used his magnetic pulser (see below) on himself. After a month, he began to effortlessly lose weight. His blood pressure and blood sugar normalized. His hair grew back. When I visited with him in March of 1996, he weighed 180 pounds and was most certainly not using a wheelchair. This unit will clear up AIDS and many other (if not all) infections in the blood, and no frequency needs to be known. They retail at $250, street price of $175 or so.
The Beck magnetic pulse generator. The Beck blood cleaner only cleans what is in the blood that flows past the electrodes. It does not get at the lymph (which may have little or no circulation) or pathogens that may hang out there. So Beck put a 2.5mh coil in series with the flash tube of a camera flash. When the test button is pushed, a powerful magnetic pulse is produced. This produces a small current in any nearby tissue, dealing with pathogens resident there. It is not only a lymph cleanser, it does very well on localized infections such as sties or pockets beneath teeth. No frequency need be known. It also loosens up tight muscles so that chiropractic adjustments are much easier. The Vivitar 1900 flash has been used as the basis of thousands of these devices. The coils come from MCM Electronics. Another variety, called the auto- thumpy, uses the same coil, and the small party strobe from Radio Shack.
The Clark ZAPPER. Dr. Hulda Clark used a frequency generator to deal with various pathogens. At one point, she asked her son Geoffrey to build her a small battery operated frequency generator. The device he built produced a [ pulsed DC square wave signal]. Dr. Clark found that it would kill various pathogens even if it was not set to their frequency. Thus was born the "zapper". These small homemade units can destroy many different parasites, bacteria, and viruses using just the one frequency of around 30,000 Hz. A real time saver. Many of us have had good results with these units.
[Editor's Note:] While 5 to 10 volts was originally recommended by Hulda Clark as being very effective, other researchers are working with higher voltages, and there is talk that more results may be achieved faster at higher voltage levels; 12 and 15 volts are now being used and recommended by many.
The Rife-Bare Device. The Rife-Bare Device. This is a re-discovery, to a considerable degree, of Rife "beam ray" technology. We greatly appreciate the fact that Dr. Bare has been willing to share his discoveries with the world. So much these days is "proprietary".
The EMEM. Dan, of New York State, designed a "Doug" type of device using a smaller ferrite core coil and smaller amplifier. A number of these have been built and results reported as good.
Dick Loyd's 'Super Zap'. There have been two areas where the Clark zapper has been criticized by some. The first area has been the low current output (This can easily be changed by altering the value of one resistor in the circuit). The second has been the 30KHz frequency. At that frequency, some have theorized that there might be something they are describing as 'skin effect', so that current tends to travel along the skin and around the outside the internal organs.
(EDITOR's NOTE: Such an effect may not occur to any measurable degree at the frequencies in use by Clark according to others; they do not agree with this 'skin effect' theory; Hulda Clark's positive results at much higher frequencies, using very low current at 5 to 10 volts, would seem to invalidate such speculation.)
To deal with both of these issues, Dick Lloyd produced what He calls the 'Super Zap'. It produces a 0-27 volt pulsed DC at 2127-2128 Hz. That, for those who are familiar with Rife frequencies, is the BX cancer "virus" frequency. The exact frequency is not really important, but it seemed like a nice symbolic choice! Like the Clark Zapper, the Super Zap will kill a very large variety of pathogens at the same time, and no frequencies need to be discovered to use it. The results with this unit have been reported as excellent. Bruce Stenulson also makes some very nice adjustable frequency zappers, capable of producing any specific frequency from below 8 Hz to well above 1.4 MHz.
The Wade device. Gary Wade has experimented with applying audio frequencies to the body with a vibrating piezo- electric plate. Some success has been reported.
The EMEM-2. Dan, who designed the coil-type EMEM [with the help of Gunther Keene, another Bio-Electronics systems designer, who also helped him in the design of the EMEM-2], tried feeding the output of an audio amplifier into an automotive ignition coil, through a spark plug, and then into one end of a plasma tube similar to those used in the Bare devices. The other end of the plasma tube is connected to a ground, and to a plate for contact with the feet. It is a contact device - the tube (or a small metal plate attached to it) must be touched. Dan reports that it is much more effective against Lyme and other conditions than was the coil device. In the latest version, the audio amplifier is replaced by a single transistor. He feels that the EMEM-2 is a very good way to apply audio frequencies along with MWO type frequencies to the body.
THE EMEM2+ SYSTEM 4E EM+ : Featuring extensive design and control enhancements over previous non-RF-Carrier based Radiant Plasma system designs , this Radiant Plasm Resonant Frequency Induction System by Bruce Stenulson expands the operating frequency range to produce the "Rife Frequencies", from <4Hz to over 10,000 Hz. An adjustable spark gap with bypass switch, along with operation from an internally contained 12 volt Gel Cell rechargeable battery, and multiple power output level setting features are incorporated into this rapidly evolving design. The "System 4E EM+" is being made available to researchers in the early part of 2000, with a "System 5 EM+" in development. Information is available on the web site.
A Unique feature of these systems is the implementation of a "Plasma Drive Optimization" control on the control panel, which allows the researcher to fine-tune or 'optimize' the plasma drive to produce a more dynamic resonance within the plasma, resulting in a greater amplitude of radiated signal from the system. Specialized Spiral Plasma Tube hand pieces have been developed for use on this system, which can be applied top specific target areas of the body. When used in conjunction with the stainless steel grounding plate, greater amplitude of induced resonance is achieved than with any purely radiant mode system; results are now being reported by several researchers in « to 1/4 of the time possible with other radiant plasma systems. Reports also indicate that this mode of operation is reaching deeper into the body, producing results on Prostate cancer, etc., that were not previously achieved. Multiple Plasma tubes can now be run simultaneously on these systems; the design continues to evolve.
The Weeks Parker device. As Dr. Rife published the frequency of 11.78 megahertz as the MOR for the cancer virus, Weeks Parker developed an inexpensive 5 watt unit to produce that frequency. No audio is used. His device can be used to drive the linear amplifier on a Bare unit. No reports of results are available yet (11-13-98.)
Zapper LTS+ by Bruce Stenulson; This device uses a thermistor, a thermally variable resistor, to produce a "Low Tech Sweep" to vary the output frequency as the thumb is placed on or removed from the device. All Circuitry and controls are built into one of the two hand pieces. Operation from 5 to 15 volts is possible; 9 volts is standard usage. Usage as a Colloidal Silver Generator is also standard, with an inexpensive accessory kit.
The Zapper HFA-4AV and HFA-4AVR : For those wanting a "Pad Device" capable of working on the lower "Rife Frequencies" as well as Hulda Clark's Frequencies, Bruce Stenulson introduced this version in September of 1998. Built in a larger housing, it features 4 frequency ranges, allowing operation from below 8Hz to well over 1.4 MHz. Coarse, Medium, & Fine frequency setting adjustments are provided, as well as adjustable output voltage level to the dual output jacks. An external power coax jack is standard, with a rechargeable Nicad battery system optional, allowing recharging from AC, Auto, or solar panel sources. Two stainless steel hand pieces are standard, with copper also available, as well as other pad type and custom made contacts available. A frequency reading meter is used to set the desired output frequency. The Zapper HFA-4AVR features an internal 10 cell NiCad battery pack; the AV model uses a 9 volt battery. Both use a Wall Adaptor or Car cord for operation, and for recharging the NiCad pack in the AVR model.
The ZAPPER HFA-4L : Available at about the first of June, 2000, This is an enhanced version of the HFA-4 series that has a specialized output jack to drive a LIGHT WAND, which contains an array of 6 High Intensity LEDs (and can optionally drive much larger custom arrays) in either a continuous mode, or pulsed at any frequency form 8 Hz to over 1.4 MHz. NASA did some of the earlier Monochromatic Light Therapy research; a search in the Web will produce a wealth of information. Dr. Richard Gerber's Book, "Exploring Vibrational Medicine" discusses how the body uses Photons to communicate in certain systems. Inducing Resonance into the body via Photons, pulsed at specific frequencies, is a relatively new field of research. The HFA-4L uses an internally mounted 12 cell NiCad battery pack as a power source, and is recharged from a Wall Adaptor. Six output jacks are provided for Zapper pad / handpiece outputs.
The ZAP-A-PET : A specialized Zapper built into a collar for cats & dogs or other pets, designed to be very
light weight & 'paw & claw proof'. Several people have reported good results when using it on themselves, wearing it around their neck, or around their leg. (For those too busy to sit down holding the conventional Zapper hand pieces for the protocol recommended by Hulda Clark, this is also convenient.)
